Hello

I'm Tiara, a registered veterinary technician with over 15 years of experience. My passion for behavior focused care has guided me both in the veterinary world and as a dog trainer. While I spend much of my time helping pet parents raise calm and confident companions, you can still find me wearing my stethoscope in the clinic - a space that continues to shape and inspire my approach.

My journey into training began with my heart dog, Kya - A sweet Labrador/Spaniel mix I've had since she was just five weeks old. Now almost 16, she's still by my side and continues to be the reason I believe in the power of patience, connection and kindness. Her calm nature and well-mannered spirit often drew compliments and questions, which sparked my mission: to help others experience that same peaceful bond.

Why I Do This

My years as a veterinary technician I have witnessed so many pups struggle with feeling stressed out and/or fearful of coming to the vet. In many cases, some do not receive the care they need as pet parents find the experience not worth the stress it causes their pups. Unfortunately, I came up in an era that "Get It Done" was the motto. This would mean, that a pup would be forced through a pedicure, blood drawl, catheter insertion, etc..., with full restraint and some cases from multiple staff members. In most cases, the service would get done but unbeknownst to us that it would leave a negative impression which would only get worst with time.

In 2016, I attended a veterinary conference and that is where I was introduced to the philosophies of Fear Free. These pups were communicating to us and had we listened it would have changed the tone and emotions of these pups experience. I wanted to create a more positive experience for all fur babies that came through the hospital. I have personally witnessed this amazing change. Even having pet parents say, "This was the best experience, my dog/cat usually hate coming to the vet."

The skills and information I received from learning about fear free has made me a better technician. I wanted to share this information with pet parents so they can create a better relationship with their pups. So you will have a pup that is thriving not only at home but also in the veterinary hospital. Which inspired the mission statement:

To build lasting bonds between dogs and their humans through education, empathy and positive reinforcement - empowering owners to truly understand their dogs and give them the best chance to thrive at home for life.

Through a calm, compassionate approach, I aim to create safe spaces for learning, connection and trust. Let's work together to create the bond that you and your pup deserves!
